Celebrate the Women Who Show Up This Mother’s Day

• Women United

This Mother’s Day, Women United, a giving and volunteer network of United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley, invites the community to celebrate the women who show up for others every day.

Through Women United Honors, you can recognize mothers, sisters, friends, neighbors, and mentors. At the same time, you help women and girls in need across the Chattahoochee Valley.

Women United Honors launches ahead of Mother’s Day. However, it will continue year-round. The idea is simple: honor one woman and uplift many.

Not Just Leaders. Everyday Women Who Make a Difference.

“Not every hero has a title or a spotlight, and that’s exactly who this is for,” says Rachel Chambless, Director of Women United.

For example, it could be the mom who never misses a game. It could be the coworker who always checks in. It might be the aunt who steps in to help. Or it could be the friend who quietly holds everything together.

“We want to celebrate those everyday moments of care and generosity,” Chambless adds.

Importantly, this initiative is open to everyone. You do not need to nominate a CEO or public figure. Instead, you can nominate someone from your daily life.

You can nominate:

  • The mom who does it all and still shows up for others
  • The friend who organizes meal trains during tough times
  • The neighbor who volunteers at church or community cleanups
  • The coworker who lifts others up
  • The family member everyone calls first because she is always there

These are the stories worth sharing.

Simple to Nominate. Powerful Impact.

Nominating someone is easy. In fact, it only takes a short story. You do not need a long biography. Just share how she shows up for others and why she matters.

Each nomination includes a $250 charitable donation to the Women Helping Women Assistance Fund. Because of this, every nomination creates real impact.

The fund provides direct support to women facing hardship, including assistance with housing, utilities, and urgent needs, as well as support for women and girls working toward a brighter future.

A New Way to Give Back Year-Round

“We’re proud to offer new and meaningful ways for people to support our work throughout the year,” said Ben Moser, President & CEO of United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley.

“Women United Honors celebrates the women who hold our community together. These recognitions also help us reach more women and girls with the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.”

Each nomination includes a short story and photo to help highlight the everyday impact women have across our region.

Selected stories may be shared across United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley and Women United platforms. This helps inspire others and grow community support.

So, as families plan for Mother’s Day and beyond, Women United Honors offers something more meaningful. It is a way to say “thank you” while also helping others.

Nominations are now open and accepted year-round.
Nominate an extraordinary woman today.
