Addie possesses a bright spirit and will melt your heart as soon as you meet her. At six-years-old, she is a beautiful little girl who loves to dance, sing and play, especially with her twin sister Ella. From the energy she exudes now, you would never know the struggles this little one has been through.

Addie and Ella were born with twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, meaning they shared white and red blood cells. At just a few days old, Addie needed a blood transfusion and a shunt, and celebrated her one-month birthday by going home from the hospital.

Over the next few years, she showed signs of developmental delays. After experiencing several seizures that slowed her memory and learning ability, she attended therapy sessions to help with learning and development. The copays were tough on her family.

Addie’s life changed when she began attending the Therapeutic Care and Education program at Easterseals, and her quality of life greatly improved.

Today, she continues receiving the therapy she needs through Easterseals’ Family Support Program, and is an inspiration and a shining star!
