Turning compassion into action.

Women United began with a simple belief: when women look out for one another, they can shape the future of a community. Today, this powerful network invests time, talent, and resources to expand opportunities for women and girls across the Chattahoochee Valley.

Members contribute $250 or more annually to support programs and services that support women and families in our community. Throughout the year, Women United members volunteer with local afterschool and summer programs, support Community Schools, and help provide essential items to domestic violence shelters and other community partners working to support women and girls. Initiatives like Power of the Purse, the Undergarment Program, and the Women Helping Women Assistance Fund bring members together around the shared goal of helping women move forward with dignity and opportunity.

Women United invites you to nominate an extraordinary woman in your life who shows up for others with compassion, strength, and generosity. Celebrate the woman who’s always there — the one who lifts others up, often without recognition. These are the stories that deserve to be seen and shared.

By submitting a nomination, you’re also supporting the Women Helping Women Assistance Fund. This fund provides critical, immediate support to women facing difficult circumstances, including those fleeing unsafe situations, navigating financial hardship, or working to build a better future for themselves and their families. It also helps provide encouragement and opportunity for women and young girls with hopes and dreams who need support to move forward.

A $250 nomination fee is required for each submission and is considered a charitable donation to the Women United Women Helping Women Assistance Fund. This fund provides direct, timely support to women in our community who are experiencing hardship, including assistance with essential needs such as housing, utilities, and other urgent circumstances, as well as support for women and girls working toward a brighter future.

By submitting a nomination, you understand and agree that the story, name, and any accompanying materials you provide may be used by United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley and Women United in marketing and promotional efforts. This may include, but is not limited to, features on our website, social media, print materials, and other communications throughout the year.

    We know that for so many, especially women, our time is limited. We try to fit all the things we can into our days — in professional capacities, caring for children and loved ones, etc. Even with all the demands on our time, volunteering with Women United is a priority for me. United Way has consistently demonstrated they genuinely care and want to provide resources to help those in our community navigate their journey.
