Holland’s Hope: How Therapy at Easterseals Transforms Lives

Families Deserve Reliable Support

Caring for a child or adult with disabilities can be challenging. Many families struggle to find therapy programs that meet their loved one’s unique needs. Without this support, it can be hard for caregivers to work, go to school, or take time to recharge. Therapy isn’t just helpful—it’s essential.

Easterseals West Georgia Provides Real Solutions

Easterseals West Georgia (ESWG) helps families get the care they need, all in one place. Their team offers a full range of therapies, including occupational, physical, speech, and behavioral. Services are available to people of all ages and abilities. No other local program offers this level of care in one location.

Highly trained staff work closely with each person to set goals, track progress, and create personalized plans. Every plan includes fun, hands-on activities that build skills and confidence. Monthly check-ins help families stay informed and on track.

Holland’s Story: The Power of Progress

Holland’s journey began with a frightening moment—she didn’t take her first breath until 11 minutes after birth. At six months old, she was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Her family was scared but determined to find the right support.

They turned to Easterseals.

By 14 months, Holland began using braces and a walker, giving her new freedom to explore. Now, at 21 months, she’s standing with help and saying sweet words like “DaDaDa” and “love you.” Her progress shows what’s possible with the right care and encouragement.

Supporting the Whole Family

Therapy supports more than just the individual receiving care—it strengthens the whole family. As children and adults with disabilities grow more independent, their families can return to work, attend school, and plan for the future. That stability helps families thrive and benefits the entire community.

United Way Helps Make This Possible

Easterseals programs are made possible in part by Community Investment Grants from United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley. This support helps families like Holland’s access therapy, reach big milestones, and build a brighter future together.
