COLUMBUS, GA – United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley and Community Schools United proudly recognize Jarvis Hamilton, Community Schools Coordinator at Brewer Early Innovation Academy, for receiving the prestigious Chattahoochee Flint RESAs Champion for Education award. Nominated by Muscogee County School District Superintendent Dr. Lewis and Principal Karprice Bentley-Brown, Jarvis Hamilton’s award highlights exceptional dedication to education, family support, and community partnership.
For the past five years, Jarvis Hamilton has worked tirelessly to support students, empower families, and strengthen school-community connections. His work demonstrates the power of community-centered leadership, showing how educators can transform both student experiences and neighborhood engagement.
One of Mr. Hamilton’s signature programs is the Walking School Bus, which brings together volunteers, staff, and neighborhood partners to safely escort students to school each morning. This initiative improves student safety and punctuality while fostering stronger connections between families and the school.
In addition, Jarvis Hamilton helps families access vital resources such as food, housing assistance, mental health services, school supplies, and other basic needs. His compassionate approach removes barriers to student success and provides stability for families during challenging times.
As an advocate for opportunity, Mr. Hamilton ensures underserved families have access to essential services and expanded educational opportunities. His leadership strengthens the critical relationship between school, family, and community — the cornerstone of the Community Schools model.
